Company wins EDC Readers’ Choice Award and named an AlwaysOn GoingGreen Global 200 company

San Francisco – November 27, 2012 – BuildingIQ, a leading energy management software company with a mission to redefine the way energy is managed in commercial buildings, has taken home two industry awards this month. The company was chosen as the winner of the 2012 Environmental Design and Construction (EDC) Readers’ Choice Awards for the third consecutive year, and was also named a 2012 AlwaysOn GoingGreen Global 200 company. These recent honours for BuildingIQ’s predictive energy optimization and smart grid software add to a very successful year for the company, totalling five award wins in 2012.

The BuildingIQ system uses predictive energy optimization software to forecast energy demands and make real-time adjustments to a building’s HVAC controls, resulting in reduced energy consumption. By incorporating utility prices, demand response signals, weather data and occupant comfort into its optimization algorithms, BuildingIQ reduces a building’s peak loads, cuts carbon emissions and lowers utility costs. This software can be applied to any existing energy management system to produce immediate results, without large capital expenditures.

“We are proud to gain recognition for our innovative software not only from our industry peers but also from industry experts and analysts,” said Mike Zimmerman, CEO of BuildingIQ. “These awards support our progress in redefining the way energy is not only being managed but optimized in commercial buildings. Instead of passively looking at a building’s historic energy consumption, BuildingIQ provides a building with the ability to intuitively make adjustments before energy is wasted.”
