VP, Sales and Business Development – Asia Region | Singapore
Position Overview
BuildingIQ is expanding its presence in the Pacific Rim. We are opening an office in Singapore and looking for a Vice President, Sales and Business Development to lead our expansion in the region. The Vice President, Sales and Business Development is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all sales activities within the region. In addition, the Vice President, Sales and Business Development is responsible for developing business partners who will resell and support our SaaS (Software as a Service) application. This individual should be familiar with Salesforce and possess natural sales instincts that can engage with influencers and decision makers to communicate the company’s value proposition. Additionally, this individual will research, define and target specific market segments via in-depth territory and account planning to enable a high rate of sales to identified leads. Integrity, vision and passion are essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Establish and implement short-and long-range goals, revenue plans, objectives, policies, and operating procedures consistent with BuildingIQ’s strategic business plan
- Play a hands on, direct role in sales, channel sales and strategy, account management, including attending sales meetings and helping to close deals
- Recruit, hire and manage a high performing sales team;
- Develop the sales strategy and priorities across direct and channel partners
- Understand and drive a solution sales methodology to the market
- Clearly articulate and differentiate our positive cash flow generation value proposition to executives
- Ability to craft solutions that meet business goals based on client interaction
- Research, plan, and incorporate insightful differentiators for each target segment
- Analyze feedback and recommend new sales strategies
- Understand the sales process and buying cycle – must demonstrate ability to close deals
- Understand the product in depth and communicate that product to the marketplace
- Capability to create and take advantage of self-generated opportunities
- Collaborate with peers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches
- Identify and develop additional channel partners for the company. Continue to train and educate BuildingIQ’s channel partners
- Research, plan, and incorporate insightful talking points for each potential business development opportunity within the geographical region
- Nurture relationships and qualify new opportunities with calls to action and dates
- Understand the product in depth and communicate that product to the marketplace
- Build trust and cultivate solid relationships with prospects and clients
Requirements:
- 10+ years of direct sales experience in Asia and/or the Pacific
- 5+ years of sales management experience in Asia and/or the Pacific
- Track record of consistent above quota performance
- Strong leadership and consensus building skills
- Track record and capability of evaluating evaluate and subsequently grow sales team from initial hire to a multi-continent, organization
- Proven ability to perform in high-visibility, high-growth environments
- Strong, existing contacts at executive and senior levels within the commercial building energy space – corporate real estate (owner/operators) and REITS
- Solid track record of delivering long term contract bookings that lead to profitable revenue growth
- Experience in the building controls/energy efficiency market, including knowledge of key organizations globally
- Strong ability and track record of driving channel and alliance relationships maximize market penetration and revenue growth
- Experience with both start-ups and large organizations
- College Degree, technical competency is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Creative, energetic and self-driven
- Knowledge of the clean energy / energy efficiency (EE) industry
- Software Sales, Business Development Experience in SaaS a plus
